S.A.F.E. Project Co-founders Admiral and Mary Winnefeld join more than 350 attendees at the Opioid Safety Summit hosted by the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) and the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA). The Winnefelds will be joined by fellow attendees with personal stories of addiction, a presentation on stigma from OBH Director Robert Werthwein, and results from CHA’s Opioid Safety Pilot in 10 Colorado hospitals and more.
The Colorado Opioid Safety Summit brings together a broad range of experts to increase participant knowledge of the state of Colorado’s opioid epidemic and progress in opioid reduction strategies. This includes results from a statewide 10 emergency department alternatives to opioids pilot, information on the OBH Colorado Opioid State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Grant, and other innovative ideas to combat the opioid crisis from a local perspective to a nationwide perspective.
Listen as Admiral James Winnefeld and Mary Winnefeld speak publicly for the first time about the tragic overdose of their son, Jonathan, and how ‘No Family is S.A.F.E…yet’.
