“Six For Addiction” to Support Recovery – May 2023

A series of 50Ks with Brenda and Renata

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who supported our May 2023 “Six For Addiction” fundraiser!

Event Recap

Meet Brenda & Renata

Brenda Bland has completed numerous ultramarathons, running her first ultra in 2003 at age 44. She is a “senior endurance athlete,” yogi, and Grandma.

Renata Martini Poetzl is a runner and a mother looking to reach new milestones and make a difference through running.

The two met after Renata organized a 24-hour hike on a local trail running Facebook Group. They were the only two hikers to complete the event and thus built a friendship. Since then, they have run many miles, set a Fastest Known Time (FKT), and completed a solo 100-mile event. They love challenges and are very excited to complete “Six for Addiction,” a consecutive run of at least 50k a day for six days, culminating in the last 50K taking place at the annual Ice Age Trail race set in LaGrange, WI.
