Our Financial Information
S.A.F.E. Project was established in November 2017, and was formally approved for incorporation by the Commonwealth of Virginia on May 18, 2018. Our Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 83-0781172.
S.A.F.E. Project’s request for exempted status under section 501(c)(3) is currently pending with the Internal Revenue Service. We will be completely transparent with our donors and supporters as our tax exemption status progresses and additional materials become available; including but not limited to our approved corporate bylaws, as well as our first 990 tax forms and audited financial statements when the 2018 tax year is complete.
S.A.F.E. Project operates in full transparency, and in stewardship of its supporters. Our policies follow all non-profit best practices and benchmarks. Read more below about policies and procedures.
S.A.F.E Project does not accept contributions or support from any source directly responsible for the creation or perpetuation of the addiction fatality crisis, without a specific, sincere and public acknowledgment of their role in the crisis, their commitment to preventing further escalation of the crisis within and outside of the United States, and their affirmative support to immediately engage in other efforts to Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic.
S.A.F.E. Project is eager to collaborate with and support other organizations attempting to Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic. However, we are reluctant to work with organizations that receive funding from a source associated with causing the opioid epidemic, as described above.
