Recovery Your Way
Every September, we proudly celebrate National Recovery Month — a powerful tribute to the strength and resilience of those impacted by addiction. It’s a time to highlight the incredible victories of individuals in recovery, amplify their voices, and champion the diverse, holistic pathways that make healing possible.
Recovery Month is a bold reminder of how far we’ve come and a call to action for all the work still ahead. Prioritizing community-based care, dismantling systemic barriers, and advocating for more accessible and diverse treatment and recovery practices are just some of the ways we can all work toward a more equitable recovery landscape.
At SAFE Project, we stand shoulder to shoulder with individuals and communities across the country, proudly supporting every path to recovery and well-being. Together, we are building a future where recovery is not just possible for some, but for all.

SAFE Project Recovery Playlist
Music is incredible! It fills us with a capacity for hope and healing in a way that nothing else can quite touch. Whether being transported to another time and place or firmly rooting us in the present moment, music transcends the roller coaster of emotions and volatility recovery can bring.
Recognizing this, SAFE Project has created a “Recovery Playlist” which captures a digest of songs that have served as beacons of hope for individuals weathering the storm of recovery. Ideally, this will be a playlist that grows over the course of time and evolves into a space where individuals in recovery and their advocates can share their messages of hope and resilience through the power of music.

Community First: Queer Kentucky’s Approach to Harm Reduction
Queer Kentucky is redefining what community care looks like. While best known as a nonprofit newsroom uplifting queer voices through award-winning journalism, Queer Kentucky has recently stepped into harm reduction work by installing life-saving resource lockers across the state. In this interview, we explore how they’ve responded to the growing overdose crisis with creativity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of local need. Their story is a powerful reminder that you don’t have to be a “harm reduction organization” to make a difference.
