ARLINGTON, VA – January, 2, 202 – With the start of the new year, SAFE Project (Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic) is proud to announce a generous donation of $500,000 from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to support its mission of ending the addiction fatality epidemic in the United States.

The Enterprise Holdings Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands through a global network of subsidiaries and franchises.

“Through its philanthropy, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation makes a difference in communities across the country,” said Brandee Izquierdo, Executive Director of SAFE Project. “Thanks to the Enterprise Holdings Foundation’s generous donation, we are able to turn hope into action for additional communities, campuses, and veterans this year.”

Founded in 1982, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation has contributed more than $405 million to thousands of local nonprofits focused on community improvement, education, and environmental stewardship. Their support empowers organizations working to address real challenges in the neighborhoods where Enterprise employees and customers live and work.

SAFE Project will use this funding to strengthen its key initiatives: SAFE Campuses, SAFE Communities, and SAFE Veterans. These programs are part of SAFE’s broader strategy to support individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder. That strategy is built around six core lines of operation: public awareness, full-spectrum prevention, prescriptions and medical response, law enforcement and criminal justice, treatment and recovery, and family outreach and support.

Through generous contributions like this and the continued efforts of SAFE’s dedicated staff and volunteers, the organization delivers transformative programs, training, and technical assistance that drive real change nationwide.
