SAFE Project presents: The Tennessee Workplaces Opioid Summit! Join us for a day of conversation, testimonials, and best practices as we work together to combat the opioid epidemic in Tennessee.

The Summit will focus on opioid primary prevention and response strategies for Workplace leaders, insurance/payor professionals, and local health providers and community leaders who want to learn more about how they can support Tennesseans.

Plus: Hear from Keynote Speaker Dr. Wes Geminn, PharmD, BCPP, Chief Pharmacist, State Opioid Treatment Authority, and Residency Program Director for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division of Clinical Leadership.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Wes Geminn, PharmD, BCPP, is the Chief Pharmacist, State Opioid Treatment Authority, and Residency Program Director for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division of Clinical Leadership. Dr. Geminn graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2011 and completed a post-graduate residency in managed care and psychiatry with the department in 2012. He is currently board-certified in psychiatric pharmacy and serves on several boards and committees at the state and national levels dedicated to serving those with mental illness and substance use disorders.

Dr. Geminn is currently serving as Tennessee’s State Opioid Treatment Authority, which is responsible for providing regulatory oversight, education, and clinical and technical assistance to Tennessee’s opioid treatment programs. As the Chief Pharmacist, he also provides oversight and technical assistance to Tennessee’s Regional Mental Health Institutes. He serves on several departmental committees responsible for improving patient care for all those served by the department.

Dr. Geminn precepts pharmacy students, provides lectures to the public and schools of pharmacy, and is the acting Residency Program Director for the department’s PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Program.
